Western Texas College will honor President Dr. Barbara Beebe at a retirement celebration on Friday, November 14, 2025. The come-and-go event will be held on the Western Texas College (WTC) campus in the Visitor Center from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the event.

Beebe announced her plans to retire in April of 2025. “For thirteen years, Dr. Beebe has led Western Texas College with vision, compassion, and integrity,” said Ralph Ramon, WTC Vice

President and Dean of Students. “Her dedication to our students, faculty, and the broader community has made an enduring difference that will continue to inspire us for years to come.”

Under Beebe’s leadership, the College underwent a campus-wide renovation that included doubling the size of the cafeteria, a beautiful indoor track, a state-of-the-art cardio workout center, refurbished locker rooms, and additional new offices in the gym, as well as significant upgrades to the Fine Arts Theater, sidewalks, plazas, and walkways.

“It has been a privilege to work with Dr. Beebe,” said Lorenzo Sands, Director of Marketing. “Her support and guidance helped me grow professionally, and I am grateful for the positive impact she has had on campus and on my own work.”

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program, the nation’s premier recognition of high achievement and performance among two-year colleges, recognized WTC five times as one of the top community colleges in the country during the years Dr. Beebe guided the College.

Western Texas College invites students, employees, alumni, and community members to the celebration on Friday, November 14, to offer Dr. Beebe well wishes in person.
