Brad Overcash

This quarter, the WTC Foundation highlights student Brad Overcash, a Snyder native and recipient of the Century Club Scholarship. Overcash is majoring in Psychology and will graduate in 2026 with an Associate of Science degree. He plans on transferring to Angelo State in the fall to study neuroscience and psychology.

Overcash considers his scholarship award a great honor. “To be chosen as one of the first recipients of the Century Club Scholarship is a true honor. I am proud of the heritage and hope to add to its legacy of academic greatness.”

As a working professional and nontraditional student who also teaches yoga, pilates, and spin classes, Overcash values WTC’s flexible online format, which allows him to balance a full-time job and side gigs with his academic goals.

“WTC was a great choice for me because I am able to take classes online and still work full-time,” he said. “I feel fortunate because without this format, I would not be able to further my education.”

As an online learner, Overcash hopes to see even more resources dedicated to distance education so students like him can continue to thrive.

He credits the kindness and support of WTC faculty and fellow students as his favorite part of the college experience. “Hands down, the people. I have truly relied on the guidance, support, and encouragement of faculty and cohorts. I truly appreciate the kindness and generosity,” he shared.

His favorite class at WTC so far? “Each class I take becomes my new favorite. Hard-pressed, I would say my social science classes have been my favorites. The human experience is fascinating.”

When asked what message he would share with future WTC students, he offered heartfelt encouragement: “I’m so proud of you. Take a deep breath and be where your feet are. Expectations only cause suffering. Do not forget to enjoy the journey. You are going to be great!”
